This year’s Sectional Tournament, at its new June date, was an overwhelming success. In fact, with 144 tables playing over 4 days, we smashed the new record, set last year, at 130 tables. Thanks go to our very special Director, Karl, for his hard work to make this tournament run as usual so smoothly. Thanks also to Jack and Lisa for quietly and faithfully continuing the tradition of hosting Kerry & Karl for the weekend. Sincere thanks to our very generous sponsors and donors who supplied a terrific pool of prizes. And a big thank you to all volunteers, most particularly Dee, Judy H-L and Deb. We gave a fond farewell to Greg, whose efforts over the last several years are the reason for our swelling numbers and keen novices. Congratulations to all the winners, particularly Vera and Roman for retaining our Sectional Trophy for the Overall Masterpoint Winner. Congratulations to Lorna for being the first Overall Junior Masterpoint winner of the Tournament, a new award instituted this year. But most of all, thank you everyone for a terrific turn out - your support makes this event a very special weekend.
